In my second year at Queen's University, along with friends, I founded and was appointed President of a new club, "Queen's Collage Collective's (QCC for short).
QCC is a club on Queen’s campus. Our events are for healing, expression and the strengthening of mental health through creating art. We aim to provide an accountable space to facilitate anti-oppressive conversation. Our monthly events are pay-what-you-can, and we provide all materials necessary for collaging. Each month has a theme (past themes have surrounded anti-racism, 2SLGBTQQIA+ pride, resistance and self-care) and to collage folks are provided with a page of themed images correlating with the month’s theme (these pages are called collage kits). We also partner with other organizations and clubs for specific anti-oppressive aims! Our Instagram and Facebook is: @queenscollagecollectives
The goal of QCC is to promote anti-oppressive learning. We facilitate this learning through collaging and discussions at our monthly events.
The attached Word Doc. file below contains 4 anti-oppressive collage kits you folks can print out and use at home! Get creative and create some art that empowers you.
